My Philosophy

Life is a miracle made to be enjoyed.

I believe spirituality is like a mountain with different communities gathered around it. While they all hold different perspectives and pathways depending on their vantage point, they are describing the same mystery. This is mine.

This way of seeing reality is what has brought me to the ocean of peace and joy that remains with me no matter the waves of challenge.

My Great Quest

Ever since I could think, I’ve been asking: Why are we here? What does it all mean?

As a tiny child I initially decided there must be a Christian god as per the story I heard told in society.

Then at the age of eight I found a book on evolution in my grandad’s shed and went running into my parent’s room saying “God isn’t real! God isn’t real!”

There began my passionate love affair with science.

The Spirituality of Science

Science is a method of enquiry into the nature of reality and what it has revealed is as spiritual as any of the great traditions.

I spent my youth in awe at the workings of the universe. I marvelled at the elegance and miracle that is life on Earth: photosynthesis, evolution, how flowers figured out how to create nectar to entice insects to spread their seeds.

What science has shown and mystics have long known is that when you break matter down, you find a creative unfolding that many experience as consciousness.

Chemistry teaches us everything is one great dance of atoms.

The iron atoms in our blood were fused in the bellies of stars that exploded into stardust. And those same iron atoms formed the earth, exploded out of volcanoes, and now carry the oxygen through our bodies. And when we die, we dissolve again. The atoms we once were are reborn as the soil, the seas, the sky.

We are one eternal dance of creation. Any idea of separation is an illusion.

Then when I went to Rainbow Serpent Festival for the first time when I was 18, I felt this oneness of all things as a lived experience.

God Gave You Feet for Dancing

The Creator manifested from the void of bliss into form to experience itself in all its flavours.

We are all waves in the ocean of love. Different yet the same. Temporary forms playing in an eternal sky.

Our erotic energy is creation energy, the longing of love for love. It is the same force that births galaxies, blooms flowers and draws one to another.

We were born to love, connect and transform. Our bodies are temples for Earthly Delight, our senses are gateways to knowing the nature of the divine.

Pleasure is prayer. Feeling the air on our skin, tasting fruit, delighting in conversation, all are acts of worship: the Creator loving creation.

The Divine Knows Who You Are

I was once a proud atheist who thought anyone believed in any kind of deity was an ignorant fool. But I was wrong.

The divine is both personal and impersonal. The energy of divinity shows itself according to your consciousness and context.

The Goddess called to me in all her forms. Kuan Yin, Kali, Tara, Isis, Mother Mary, are not just symbols, they are real energies you can connect to. I feel their love around me and they make their presence felt in ways so tangible it makes me cry.

There is a higher power operating through this universe that knows you personally. You have the power to co-create with this intelligence.

However, the universe is a mirror not a vending machine. The way you meet life shapes the life that meets you. We are not passive but participants in the great unfolding.

We hold creative agency in the direction of our lives. There are powerful forces ready to support us in our becoming, if we know how to call.

Choosing to devote yourself to love is what attracts the miraculous into form. Living life as a sincere prayer to be of service to creation is what we were born for. This is the key that opens the gateway of infinite blessing.

The Universe is a Playground

One day the Earth will be swallowed by the sun. We’re all going to die no matter what we do. Everything is temporary.

Creation includes destruction. Growth includes decay. Beauty includes rupture. Love includes grief. You can’t have one without the other. This is what creates the textural richness of the experience. This understanding does not remove pain, but it gives it context. Challenge becomes the fuel for evolution.

Life is a dance, a symphony, a great unfolding drama. The meaning is right here in this moment.

This is liberating. It means you can’t get it wrong. All we ever have are the flavours of the eternal now, to be savoured for all that they are.

Life is a Miracle and So Are You

You are a song of creation unique in all the universe.

Like a tree grown from the seed, no stage is better than the other, all are perfect exactly as they are. The tender sprout, the young sapling, that keeps growing into a mature specimen able to shade and nourish the rest of the community.

You are here to be you, to sing the unique note of the cosmic symphony that only you can.

Life is a journey not a destination. We are here to create and celebrate beauty. To share our gifts and essence in service to the whole.

To feel the full spectrum of what it means to be alive within this great and beautiful mystery. To participate in the dance of love, knowing ourselves as both the wave and the ocean.

This understanding is what allows me to serve what moves my soul and passionately love what is true and beautiful without being consumed by the tragedy of the world.

Life is a gift so let’s enjoy it.

May all of creation dance for joy within you...
