Remembering Earth was Heaven all along.
The Temple of Earthly Delights is both place and philosophy.
It is a sanctuary of love devoted to the truth that life is delicious, abundant and made to be shared.
The Temple of Earthly Delights is my vision statement for the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.
It is my invitation into the lived experience of Heaven on Earth. It offers a portal into what a regenerating world could be like, where every day is a celebration of how good it is to be alive. It is a space to commune with the magic and mystery it is to be people of this planet.
As you step through the Temple door you emerge into a realm of enchantment. Fresh roses scent the air, there are soft spaces to lay down, books to ponder and lots of little treasures to explore. It feels like being held in a cocoon of warm generous love. A nest of comfort, beauty and magic where you are treasured exactly as you are.
The Temple of Earthly Delights finds a natural home in the festival landscape. It offers adventurers a sanctuary to rest, reflect and contemplate the mysteries and beauty of existence. The Temple has incarnated at Rainbow Spirit, Elysium and Interstellar Groove Festivals.
The centrepiece of the temple is the Altar of Abundance offering a cornucopia of beauty and delight for all to share. There people find a range of free gifts to explore and enjoy, including fresh fruit, incense, chocolates, seeds, organic goodness, evolutionary ideas, a lucky dip of wisdom and so much more.
The Altar of Abundance is a political statement of deep generosity dissolving away the narrative of separation and scarcity. It makes the point there is more than enough for everyone if we open to share.
The Earth is abundant by nature. The web of life is one great dance of reciprocity. Everything is supported by everything else to thrive. Every breath we take is a gift of photosynthesis. And then the plants take in our exhales.
The nature of life is to share what we have in abundance, and receive what is easy for others to give in return.
The Temple celebrates how good it feels to participate in this exchange of love. Not from a place of martyrdom or self-sacrifice, but pleasure.
Love is the renewable energy that powers all existence.
That Earthly Delights feeling.
Appreciating beauty is celebrating the Creator of All That Is.
Touching skin, making art, admiring the colours of the clouds, letting a smile touch your lips as you savour a juicy peach, all are acts of worship.
Erotic energy is the longing of love for love. It is the force that births galaxies, flowers and babies for the fun of it. It is the desire of energy to connect, create and be transformed. It is God and Goddess making love in every atom.
Spiritual practice used to be a party of communing with this energy. Dancing, feasting and love making were honoured as sacred rites.
Religion got serious when the body was forgotten as the vehicle we have been gifted to commune with the love of the universe.
But you don’t need a gatekeeper to get to know the Creator of All That Is.
The Temple of Earthly Delights shows the sacred is right where we already are. In this breath, this body, this beauty all around us. The divine is singing through every particle of existence if we pause to listen.
You alive right now reading these words is a miracle.
You are a spark of life that has endured for billions of years. From the first cell to emerge from the primordial soup, millions of generations of your ancestors have reimagined themselves to adapt to an ever-changing world. And through every cataclysm that managed to drive other species extinct, your predecessors found a way to survive through it all and combine their DNA with another. This is the torch you now hold.
The heartbeat in your chest is the same pulse that births galaxies and makes whales sing. You are the creative intelligence of the universe expressing and experiencing itself in human form.
Your senses are portals of delight. You are here to savour all the juices of this human experience.
Every moment is a chance to play your special note in the song of creation.
You are here anyway, so why not enjoy it?
Life is good.
